Excursions: Tuscany, cities of art, Maremma and the sea

Golfo del Sole has published a special brochure for its guests containing a wide range of excursions throughout Tuscany and beyond (Rome, Florence, Siena, Elba Island, and many others) to be enjoyed at special prices. Departsssure times are specified in the excursion brochure you will receive on arrival or which is available at the Info-point, along with more information about our territory.

The programme for the typical weekly trips is well-packed and customizable according to what you wish to see: the cities of art, the wine routes, the medieval villages or the beautiful beaches of the Tuscan archipelago. On the basis of your requirements, we will provide you with information about the different destinations and book on-site guides for you. Our area is considered an ideal destination for cycling enthusiasts and professionals who can enjoy un-trafficked rides surrounded by nature. On request we can also organise retreats for clubs and sports associations. In addition, we also host groups and events related to the world of sailing and the sea, thanks to collaboration with the nearby local sailing club.

The Maremma region, a green pearl set in a turquoise sea

What do you want to do today?

On the horizon and within easy reach are the islands of the Tuscan archipelago: Elba Capraia Giglio and Giannutri can easily be reached by ferry from Piombino or by motorboat from Castiglione della Pescaia or Porto Santo Stefano.

In inland Tuscany there is so much to do in that you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Golfo del Sole is ideally situated in the Tuscan Maremma region, in the middle of the Gulf of Follonica, between Punta Ala and Piombino. Nearby, you will be able to admire some of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy, such as Massa Marittima, Suvereto and Campiglia Marittima, and the art cities of Siena, Volterra and Lucca; the Abbey of San Galgano; numerous Wine Routes for food and wine lovers; the natural and archaeological mine parks of the surrounding metalliferous hills; and, a little further on, the Uccellina Park, and the famous «Giardino dei Tarocchi».
